Skrillex at Summer Set Music Festival 2016
Flame throwers of smoke, explosions of confetti, well-choreographed lights and eruptions of fireworks during Skrillex’s set was the equivalent to a heroin addict re upping their high. Los Angeles native, Skrillex made it out to Somerset, Wisconsin for Summerset Camping and Music Festival 2016. To give us bass heads the re-up we all needed. The crowd was meshing & vibing in unity for pure love for the “wub wub wubs” as he threw down a mind blowing final set to close out the festival. Not only is he one of the worlds top DJ’s behind the decks, but he can command and interact with the crowd like no-one else.
As an attendee at SSMF, the purple octopus was one of the most memorable totems (one of the biggest totems that took about nine people to carry) seen throughout the set. It was at least 10 feet high laced in LED lights on each tentacle. The octopus squad had gone out for water and Skrillex personally called them back out.
The transitions between songs were flawless and never had the fans off beat, overall, Skrillex’s fluidity during his live set and the crowd was a real pleaser. There wasn’t a dull moment. Counting the down tempo songs to give a crowd a breather, people still had their heads bopping. Once everyone caught their breath a climax to yet another dirty drop fed the crowd what they needed. Skrillex definitely deserved the spot as the headliner on the last day. It was a job well done.
