A Serious Side of The Chainsmokers
The Chainsmokers are one of those groups you either love or hate them, they’re still around. Their new song “Sick Boy” isn’t the Roses and the Closer’s of the world but it’s different from what they’ve produced in the past. It takes a different approach and makes you contemplate the bigger picture.
Music Review: Sick Boy By The Chainsmokers
As many are decoding the lyrics to the song “Sick Boy,” a lot of people are unsure about the context of the song or what it’s actually getting at.
With their album Memories… Do Not Open, this is the first song that they heavily advertised. The song “Sick Boy” diverts from their upbeat pop style. From a predominantly EDM basis to pop and now they’re here.
The Chainsmokers are normally upbeat and their songs tend to be on a lighter note, which can throw a lot of people off. But, for this song, it has an eerie sound. It’s not a bad thing but not everyone will love this single they released.
With the lyric in the chorus ” How many likes life my life worth?” It brings a subject on how people cherish likes as much as they do their own life. Soo deep. With everything going on in the world, can this song be taken in a political way? Or are people looking too into it?
The song starts up calmingly with the piano track leaves a deep and places the tone of the song. Drew’s mournful lyrics brings extra emphasis on his voice. With rach chorus breakdown, the beat becomes more intense and the video gets darker in content. It’s a song and video you should check out.
